I am singer, classically trained with a main focus in early music and voice embodiment. I also studied recorder, clarinet and musicology. As a teacher and performer, I focus on a joyful, healthy and technically skilled way of singing. I focus not only on the sound production, but also on body posture, relaxation and organic movement. An happy and relaxed body creates a beautiful, natural and relaxed sound. You choose your own repertoire, and together we will work towards developing your voice at its fullest potential, your expressivity and text and style interpretation. I have experience teaching several music genres, from classical, jazz, pop, folk music and even extended vocal techniques like growls. Singing is a vulnerable, intimate, communal act, and sadly, our modern world has mystified it into the sphere of the "born-talent" ideal. I consider singing an universal right. We all have the capacity and the right to sing. If anybody has told you that you can't sing, they were wrong. Like any skill, you can learn it. And if you sing, you, your body, and your soul will be happier. One of my students once said: "You come for a singing lesson and you discover something new about who you are". I think that would summarize well the space I try to create in my lessons.
